Historical opening snapshot · FTMO Instant Account
The Beginning
I began trading a $10,000 FTMO Instant Account. Access to simulated capital without the conventional evaluation stages is an opportunity, but managing the account successfully still requires discipline and compliance with trading conditions.
Initial Performance Snapshot
- Original account size: $10,000
- Closed trades in the initial snapshot: 9
- Win rate: 11.11%
- Cumulative result at this snapshot: −$400.36
This is an early snapshot, not the current account result. See My FTMO Journey for the later recorded balance and the subsequent journal entry.
More Than a Win Rate
A high proportion of winning trades does not by itself make an approach profitable. Actual performance depends on the frequency of wins, the relative sizes of wins and losses, execution costs and the risk taken.
A planned reward-to-risk ratio must also be compared with realized results. The journal should examine trading outcomes, not assume that a target reward is always achieved.
Why Record the Difficult Periods?
A personal journal is more useful when it includes difficult results and the decisions surrounding them. The financial result is evidence of what happened, but the quality of the underlying decisions requires a separate review.
